I walk and I do not run because I have to use a cane to balance myself. Being not able to hardly lift my left side of my leg and foot really sucks because I have back issues that have been affecting me for a long time after I got laminectomy on my L5-S1 bulgy disc on my lower back. So at first I would use a back brace to help me and straighten my back. But now over time I have had to use a cane to help me walk because I have fallen several times and have been off balance. If I did not use the cane I would still be not able to even walk my dog. But I still walk to get some type of exercise in order to lose my weight and in order to give my dog her exercise as well.
WHAT CHATGPT WROTE TO MAKE IT SOUND BETTER WHAT I’M TRYING TO SAY ALSO ADDED ABOUF THE NERVE SITUATION:
I walk instead of run because I rely on a cane for balance. Unfortunately, I can barely lift my left leg and foot due to long-standing back issues. These problems began after I underwent a laminectomy on my L5-S1 bulging disc in my lower back. Initially, I used a back brace to help straighten my back and provide support. However, over time, my condition has worsened, and I now need a cane to walk because I’ve experienced multiple falls and struggle with balance.
In addition to these challenges, I also have nerve damage from my back down. While I am not paralyzed, I experience a numbing sensation in my legs and feet, which is more pronounced on the left side of my body than the right. This nerve damage further complicates my mobility and balance.
Without the cane, I wouldn’t even be able to walk my dog. Despite these challenges, I make it a point to walk regularly. This not only helps me get some exercise, which is crucial for managing my weight, but also ensures my dog gets the exercise she needs.
