REPORT: J6 COMMITTEE MEMBERS ALLEGEDLY SOUGHT SEXUAL FAVORS FROM ‘STAR WITNESS’ CASSIDY HUTCHINSON

Last month, Breitbart News reported that House Speaker Mike Johnson blocked Republican investigators from issuing a subpoena for Cassidy Hutchinson, who served as the Democrat-led January 6th Commission’s “star witness” following the events of January 6, 2021.

At the time, the reason for Johnson’s decision was unclear, especially given that Hutchinson had been accused of changing her testimony during the committee hearings. However, on Thursday, The Washington Post revealed what may have influenced Johnson’s actions.

According to the Post, an aide to Johnson blocked the subpoena to prevent the release of sexually explicit text messages that lawmakers allegedly sent to Hutchinson. The Post reported, “Multiple colleagues had raised concerns with the speaker’s office about the potential for public disclosure of ‘sexual texts from members who were trying to engage in sexual favors’ with Hutchinson.” Additionally, a staff member from Johnson’s office stated that Hutchinson might “potentially reveal embarrassing information.”

Johnson has since initiated a new investigation into January 6, which will be led by Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-Ga.). Loudermilk has uncovered significant evidence over the past two years that points to political bias within the original January 6 Commission.

An investigation involving Hutchinson also implicates former January 6th Commission Vice Chair Liz Cheney, who reportedly maintained secret communications with Hutchinson during the hearings and allegedly pressured her to fire her attorney.

Loudermilk and the Oversight Subcommittee have called on the FBI to investigate Cheney for possible witness-tampering. “As a licensed attorney, Liz Cheney would have known the ethical and legal issues with this communication,” Loudermilk said last October.

“Clearly, Cheney did not want Stefan Passantino representing Hutchinson; as shortly after Cheney and Hutchinson began communicating, Cheney convinced Hutchinson to fire Passantino and arranged for a new attorney to represent Hutchinson pro bono.”

COMMENTARY:

Transparency is a cornerstone of any democratic government, and the issues raised in the article about withholding potentially damning communications between lawmakers and Cassidy Hutchinson highlight a troubling lack of accountability. If these communications occurred within the scope of their duties as government officials, there is no justification for withholding them. The public has a right to know if those entrusted with power abused it or engaged in unethical behavior.

The revelation that sexually explicit texts may have been exchanged between lawmakers and a key witness in the January 6 Commission proceedings further erodes public trust in the political process. These alleged actions represent more than personal failings; they are a direct breach of the ethical responsibilities of public office. If such texts exist, withholding them only reinforces the perception of a cover-up, which damages the integrity of the government.

The claim that Cassidy Hutchinson could “potentially reveal embarrassing information” suggests that decisions about subpoenas and investigations are being guided by personal and political considerations rather than the pursuit of justice. This is unacceptable. Government officials are not above the law, and shielding their misconduct only undermines the principles they are sworn to uphold.

While House Speaker Mike Johnson may have sought to avoid public controversy by blocking the subpoena, his actions raise serious questions about his motivations. Protecting lawmakers from scrutiny does not serve the interests of the American people. Instead, it perpetuates a system where those in power are shielded from accountability. The public deserves to know why this decision was made and what it may be hiding.

Liz Cheney’s alleged involvement in secretly communicating with Hutchinson and pressuring her to fire her attorney also warrants full disclosure. If Cheney, as a government official, engaged in conduct that could be construed as witness tampering, it must be investigated thoroughly. As Rep. Barry Loudermilk noted, Cheney’s status as a licensed attorney makes her actions even more questionable. The truth must come to light for the sake of legal and ethical accountability.

The argument for full transparency becomes even stronger when considering that these events occurred within the context of government proceedings. Public officials are accountable to the people they serve, and any actions they take in their official capacity should be subject to public scrutiny. Shielding their behavior only fosters distrust and cynicism toward the government.

The January 6 Commission was tasked with investigating one of the most significant events in recent U.S. history. If those involved in the Commission were themselves engaging in unethical or illegal conduct, it calls into question the credibility of their findings. The public cannot have faith in the conclusions of an investigation marred by corruption and secrecy.

Furthermore, releasing all relevant communications and evidence would set a precedent for transparency in government. Allowing these texts and other materials to remain hidden sends the message that those in power can act with impunity. On the other hand, full disclosure would demonstrate a commitment to accountability and help restore public trust.

Critics may argue that releasing such materials could cause embarrassment or harm to individuals involved, but personal discomfort should not outweigh the public’s right to know. Government officials willingly assume the responsibilities and scrutiny that come with their positions. If they fail to uphold the standards of their office, they should face the consequences.

In conclusion, the withholding of information related to Cassidy Hutchinson and the January 6 Commission undermines the principles of transparency, accountability, and justice. These events occurred within the confines of government proceedings, and as such, every relevant detail should be made public. Only through full disclosure can the American people ensure that their leaders are held to the highest ethical and legal standards.
